Advanced Vascular Success
A rare post subclavian aortic aneurysm was treated using a hybrid vascular approach, with the patient making a swift recovery thereafter.

The Challenge: Initial Presentation
The patient was diagnosed with a complex post subclavian aortic aneurysm located near critical blood vessels. This carried a high risk of rupture and clot related complications. There was also a serious threat to blood flow to the brain and upper limb.Traditional open surgery alone was not the safest option.

The Approach: Clinical Assessment
After a detailed multidisciplinary evaluation, a hybrid treatment strategy was chosen. This combined open surgical revascularization with minimally invasive endovascular repair. The goal was to protect blood flow while reducing surgical stress on the patient.
Diagnostic Imaging & Early Diagnosis
Early diagnosis was made possible with advanced CT angiography. The imaging provided precise mapping of the aneurysm and surrounding vessels.
The Solution: Intervention & Treatment
The patient underwent a Carotid Subclavian Bypass followed by endovascular repair. The procedure was performed by Dr. Apurba Kr Sarma and Dr. Niranjan Hiremath.
The Outcome: Recovery & Stabilisation
The patient demonstrated an excellent post-procedure outcome, including:
- Stable vascular flow with complete aneurysm exclusion
- No neurological or ischemic complications
- Faster recovery and reduced hospital stay
