Preventing Stroke Through Timely Intervention
A real-life case highlighting how rapid diagnosis and expert intervention helped prevent a life-threatening stroke.

The Challenge: Initial Presentation
A 75+ year-old male patient was admitted to Tulip Mediworld in a critical neurological condition.
Key symptoms:
- Brain haemorrhage
- Loss of consciousness

The Approach: Clinical Assessment
Through timely evaluation and neurosurgical expertise, Dr. Arindom Kakati identified the need to investigate a possible underlying vascular cause.Advanced imaging was advised to prevent further neurological damage.
Diagnostic Imaging & Early Diagnosis
Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) was performed to identify the extent of the stenosis. Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) confirmed severe carotid artery stenosis. Early diagnosis saved crucial time and played a key role in protecting the patient’s life.

The Solution: Intervention & Treatment
Under Dr. Arindom Kakati’s clinical guidance, a multidisciplinary treatment plan was initiated. The patient was shifted to the advanced Cath Lab for urgent vascular intervention.Carotid Artery Stenting was successfully performed in the Cath Lab by Dr. Gorky Medhi (Interventional Neuroradiology) as part of the coordinated care strategy.
The Outcome: Recovery & Stabilisation
- Procedure completed successfully
- Blood flow effectively restored
- Patient stabilised with satisfactory recovery
